The Boathouse at City Point is a waterfront destination along the Appomattox River, known for beautiful views, high-volume energy, and a strong cocktail program. We are looking for skilled, confident Bartenders who thrive behind the bar, engage guests naturally, and take pride in delivering both classic and creative cocktails with consistency and speed.

Pay Information

Bartenders are guaranteed a minimum of $13 per hour, and at The Boathouse at City Point this position can earn $30 per hour or more with tips, based on shifts, performance, and guest volume. Final compensation depends on experience, schedule, and restaurant needs.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for delivering an outstanding bar experience by preparing high-quality beverages, connecting with guests, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient bar environment. This role requires professionalism, urgency, and strong product knowledge.

Position Expectations

• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and dining guests
• Interact with guests, take orders, and serve food and drinks
• Assess guest preferences and make thoughtful recommendations
• Mix ingredients according to recipes and presentation standards
• Follow all food and beverage guides and HOUSEpitality service expectations
• Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements
• Restock and replenish bar inventory, garnishes, and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar throughout service
• Complete all required opening, closing, and side work checklists
• Stay guest-focused and deliver a memorable experience every shift
• Comply with all food safety and alcohol service regulations
• Support other restaurant positions as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
