Nutrition Technician PD

Shift: Days Pay Range*: $25.00/hr Position Summary The Nutrition Technician assists patients with meal selections in person and over the phone, educates patients on their diet, and ensures adherence to diet orders. The Technician organizes meal service operations and collaborates with Registered Dietitians, Registered Diet Technicians, kitchen staff, and room service hosts. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Coordinate patient menu selections and corrections via Call Center, process tickets in Computrition. Input menu selections into Computrition and Epic consistent with Diet Orders. Communicate with Dietitians or Diet Technicians when menu selections require review. Communicate with kitchen production staff and Room Service Hosts regarding special requests. Maintain proficiency in Computrition, Epic, Outlook, and other department applications. Assist Room Service Hosts, Food Service Workers, and Nutrition Technicians as needed; may be cross‑trained for full shifts in other areas. Acquire and maintain current nutrition knowledge. Address age‑specific nutritional needs of all patients. Assist Clinical Diet Technicians as required when holding DTR status. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Follow company policies, procedures, and directives. Interact positively and constructively with colleagues and patients. Prioritize and multitask effectively. Qualifications Recent experience in an acute care hospital food service department and/or call center setting preferred. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required. Basic computer proficiency skills required. Education/Licensure/Certification College degree in Nutrition or related field preferred. Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) certification preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic diets, medical terminology, and abbreviations preferred.
