Respiratory Care Practitioner Per Diem Varied

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Technical Manager and upon request of the physician, performs the activities of a Respiratory Therapist in therapy procedures. Sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. Rotating – 12 Hour (United States of America). Essential Functions Perform therapeutic procedures. Provide appropriate care to patients across all age groups and assess patient status. Maintain accurate department and patient records, initiating and updating files. Participate in quality review and infection control programs. Use equipment in accordance with department quality control. Maintain adequate inventory and manage non-functioning equipment. Participate in equipment decontamination and reprocessing. Respond to emergency codes as designated. Assist others with department work assignments. Job Qualifications Education: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Minimum 1 year of acute care experience. Licenses and Certifications California Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. BLS – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Practitioner (NRP) Certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective oral and written communication across all levels of the hospital. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of industry standards in quality and safety management. Strong customer service skills. Base Pay Scale Generally starting at $48.42 – $65.93 per hour. Salary will be set based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
