Radiology Technologist - Full Time Variable

The Radiology Technologist II performs a variety of advanced diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography and specialty imaging modalities, to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role is responsible for image acquisition, processing, and transmission through PACS, while ensuring compliance with departmental, regulatory, and quality standards. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Radiology Technologist II supports departmental operations through scheduling, inventory management, quality improvement initiatives, and leadership support during management absences.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in assigned modalities according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Process, review, and transmit images to PACS for interpretation and storage.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and exceptional customer service throughout the imaging experience.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and state and federal regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
• Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and daily operations within assigned imaging areas.
• Monitor and maintain departmental supplies and imaging equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with Radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient care.
• Provide leadership support and assist with departmental oversight in the absence of department management.

Qualifications

Required

• Current state Radiologic Technologist license and fluoroscopy permit, as required by state regulations.
• Current national certifications in two imaging modalities, as required.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to diagnostic imaging services.
• Proficiency with PACS, radiology information systems, and computer applications.
• Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and leadership skills.

Preferred

• One or more years of acute care clinical radiography experience.
• Experience working across multiple imaging modalities.
• Previous hospital or diagnostic imaging department experience.
