Mainframe Developer

Mainframe DeveloperJob Duties:Gather requirements, analyze, and closely work with Implementation Managers for all clarifications for mainframe development. Develop defect free COBOL, COBOL-DB2, COBOL-DB2-CICS codes. Produce code as per the business standards of the organization. Prepare Unit Test Plan and Unit Test Result documents as per the standard template and perform integration testing for the same within the deadline. Create implementation plan and provide implementation support. Prepare comprehensive review of all client deliverables. Responsible for changes to the existing CICS online screens. Analyze gaps in existing system as well as opportunities for improvement. Discuss the same with client SMEs to come up with solutions. Transfer knowledge to new team members on the Tools used, Stock Plan overview and complete process followed in development. Coordinate with the entire team on deployment activities such as code retrofits, code readiness and coding standards. Report Environmental issues, organize team meetings, share Test Region Charts with team members. Prepare Deployment Checklists, provide Knowledge Transition to Production Support Team before the deployment to make them aware of changes going into production. Update team members with the defects on daily basis and resolve any defects. Use Splunk to get various logs pertaining to the transaction happening, when a distributed system API is called by the Mainframe. Travel/relocate to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. for long and short term assignments at client sites. Will also accept Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Computer Software Professional.
