Composite Technician

Job Description Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.\n \n How you will be rewarded as a Composite Technician \n \n- Monday-Thursday work week working four 10-hour days\n \n- Off on Fridays\n \n- Generous paid time off and Holiday Pay\n \n- Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance\n \n- 401(K), employee assistance programs, flexible spending account\n \n Primary Responsibilities: \n \n- Assist in the development and optimization of the production of composite tubes\n \n- Fabricates, cures carbon fiber composite tubes. \n \n- Builds laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation, apply composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds.\n \n- Troubleshoot equipment, monitor process parameters, adjust equipment settings as needed to obtain parts that meet customer drawings and internal requirements. \n \n- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings\n \n- Set up spray booths to apply etching and primer compound to tubes\n \n- Load/unload winding machine mandrels into oven, run cure cycles\n \n- Pull mandrels from composite structure (de-mold)\n \n- Operate compression test machine to verify proof loads\n \n- Run daily production quantities\n \n- Recognize and report all operational variances as trained\n \n- Ability to use a computer and database to download work instructions\n \n- Basic knowledge in using precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.\n \n Required Experience & Skills: \n \n- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required\n \n- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and processing of advanced composite materials preferred\n \n- Ability to interact and communicate as part of a highly functioning team\n \n- Must be able to read, write and speak English\n \n- Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products.\n \n *Note* : Due to US Export Control laws and regulations; applicants selected for employment must show proof of a U.S. Person status before employment may begin.\n \n \nOur values are the fundamental principles guiding the way we do business and interact with stakeholders. \n DEDICATION: We are enthusiastic and creative, always searching for the best solutions.\n PRECISION: We are reliable and accurate in our technology, processes and business.\n CARE : We are inclusive and open-minded, always encouraging team spirit and cooperation.\n \nNammo and its subsidiaries provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.\n \nThis policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.\n \n Skills & Requirements Qualifications
