Purchasing ClerkAn opportunity for a detail-oriented person to work in our storeroom, primarily responsible for the purchasing/receiving of food and beverage products for the hotel. This role must adhere to established standards and procedures.Potential Career PathPurchasing Clerk - Purchasing Coordinator - Purchasing ManagerEssential Job FunctionsCommunicate with F&B Director, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to order all F&B products according to hotel needs and specifications.In consultation with F&B leaders order and schedule deliveries of food and beverage items.When necessary deliver paper products, food, and beverage to necessary departments.Monitor the grades and quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel's established standards.Maintain an orderly storeroom and conduct inventories.Obtain bids from vendors, using the telephone and FAX machines, according to the specifications set by the department heads.Ensure appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover.Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.Perform other duties as requested by management.Position RequirementsHighSchool diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous purchasing experience required or equivalent training.Work Environment and ContextWork schedule may include working some weekend days.Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping and kneeling.What We BelievePeople Are Our Capability – Hearts That Serve – Only Excellence – Stay Nimble - Own ItSource: HHM Hotels
