Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of heavy hydraulic equipment used to manufacture steel railroad components, including track panels, anchors, and axles. This role emphasizes production efficiency, quality control, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hydraulic press equipment, CNC machines, lathes, or grinders to forge or package railroad anchors and other components.
• Monitor machine operations to detect workpiece defects and make necessary adjustments to improve performance and meet customer specifications.
• Perform routine and minor maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues to anticipate and correct quality problems.
• Read and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and necessary tooling.
• Maintain a clean work area and strictly follow all prescribed safety procedures.

• Proficiency in machine operation and setup.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with quality control and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, lathes, and grinders.

• Experience with production and assembly.
• Ability to use a tape measure.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-temperature-controlled, which can be warm or cold depending on the season. The workspace is often dirty and dusty, with heavy lifting required at times. Operation of machinery can be strenuous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor Mill, KY.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.50/hr.
