Position Overview

Department: Outpatient Physical Therapy

Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours, Monday to Friday

Facility: Orthopedic Services

Location: Auburn, ME 04210

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a hospital-based outpatient environment.
  • Utilize an EMR system integrated with all healthcare providers in the region.
  • Practice hours are weekdays from 7 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Focus on personalized patient care.
  • Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions.
  • No double bookings or overlapping appointments.
  • Schedule driven by therapists.

About Us

Our organization is an integrated healthcare system serving around 400,000 residents in central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of over 40 primary and specialty care facilities. This includes a regional referral hospital that features the only Cancer Care Center in the area, an orthopedic surgery center, and a heart and vascular institute. Additionally, we are the base for the state’s sole medical helicopter service.

We also operate two critical access hospitals that provide vital healthcare services to rural communities in Maine.

Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will provide medically prescribed therapy services aimed at evaluating, treating, and restoring function, enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities. You will deliver patient-centered care in line with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices.

  • Conduct patient evaluations and physical therapy assessments.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment plans.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation and functional enhancement.
  • Track patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and recovery objectives.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatments, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, or Certificate).
  • Valid state Physical Therapy license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire, with maintenance required.
