Senior/Principal Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that integratescomputational andexperimental datato drive our programs to the clinic.The ideal candidate willhave directexperienceintegratingadeep knowledge ofsynthetic andmedicinal chemistrywithinsilicodrug discovery methodsto performmultiparameteroptimization, including ADME/PKconsiderations, and rapidly advance programs from hitidentificationto leadselectionto development candidatenomination.Asuccessful candidate will havestrong syntheticchemistry skills,expertisein creative and practical small molecule design,experience guiding teams of CRO chemistsand excellent communication skills to present strategies and results to the broader team.This individual will report to the Director ofMedicinal Chemistryand collaborate closely across functions includingcomputational chemistry, biophysics, structural biology, andbiologyteams to provide actionable insights and strategic guidance. Key Responsibilities Advance small molecule programsfrom hitselectiontodevelopment candidateselection In collaboration with CADD, biophysics,structuralbiologyand biologydesignsmall moleculesto achieve program goals and meet timelines Plan, prioritize and implement synthetic and medicinal chemistry Manage teams of external synthetic chemists to ensuretimelydelivery of complex target molecules for biological testing Review analytical data toensureidentity andquality of samples Stay currentwithchemistry, medicinalchemistryandproject-relevantliteratureas well aswithnewpatentapplication filings. Requirements Minimumqualifications:3-5yearsexperiencedriving small moleculediscoveryprogramsfromhit to leadthrough lead optimizationasdemonstratedby peer reviewed publications and/orinventorship status on patent applications Preferred qualifications: 5-10yearsexperiencewithexperience driving small molecule discovery programs from hit tolead throughdevelopment candidateselection. Experience with project leadership is a plus BS, MS or PhD in organic chemistry, medicinalchemistryor a closely related field Proventrack recordof creative solutions to solvemedicinal chemistrychallenges Firsthand experience instructure-based and computer-aided drug discovery Experience with working collaborativelyacrossdrug discovery disciplines, including biology,structural biology,computationalchemistryandbiophysics Experience leadingandmanagingteams of external chemists Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong passion for learning new concepts and technologies Additional Qualifications Experience as a project team lead Direct experience with DELscreen follow-upand fragment-baseddrug discovery Experiencewithprogressing programsthrough leadoptimizationfor immunology targets Familiaritywith molecular modeling tools Proficiencywith data analysis tools (Spotfire, KNIME) PsiThera offers a competitive base salary plus discretionary annual bonus and company ownership through stock options.
