Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal intensive care to critically ill newborns in a dynamic NICU setting. Serve as a float nurse, effectively managing patient care across multiple units including NICU, PICU, Peds, and Mother/Baby, based on skill and unit needs.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to neonates with complex medical conditions, including managing ventilators, IV lines, and medication administration.
• Perform advanced clinical duties such as A-line management, central line care, and neonatal feeding tube placement/management.
• Document patient progress accurately in EPIC, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Adapt to floating assignments across various units, providing consistent and competent patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans for neonatal patients.
• Comply with scheduling policies, including working weekends, holidays, and providing notice for time off requests.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NJ or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess a minimum of 1.5 years of NICU Level III and PICU clinical experience documented in employment history.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ventilator management, IV therapy, and medication administration specific to neonatal care.
• Be certified in BLS, NRP, and PALS.
• Have experience with EPIC charting and familiarity with neonatal clinical procedures.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including every other weekend and holiday shifts.
