Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level II Trauma center requiring general OR, robotics, and both scrub/circulate skills.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a Level II Trauma center
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• 1:1 patient ratio
• General OR cases including trauma, uro, podiatry, ortho, plastics, neuro, gyn, endo, ENT, thoracic, vascular, cardio, and bariatric procedures
• DaVinci robotics experience required
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift, 5x8 hour schedule, Monday-Friday 06:45-15:15
• Weekend coverage required on a rotational basis, inclusive of on-call
• On-call required approximately 5-6 times per 4-week period, including one weekend call
• Weekday on-call runs from end of shift until 6:30am the following morning; weekend on-call is a 24-hour shift
• Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in
• Floating required within specialty and to a sister campus as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of OR experience required
• Strong general OR and robotics experience required for first-time travelers
• Skilled in both scrubbing and circulating required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• CNOR and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, vascular, urology, ENT, and bariatrics
• Utilize specialized equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, and Hana Table
• Participate in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call responsibilities
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments with no scheduling restrictions
• First-time travelers considered with strong general OR and robotics experience
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility unless otherwise specified
• Returning staff must have a 12-month break before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system after assignment completion
• Maximum RTO request is 7 days; requests of more than 4 consecutive days require an additional week added to the contract
