ProgrammerTotal Solutions, Inc. (TSI) is seeking a skilled Programmer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing electronic data support for the Farm Service Agency's Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act (FOIA/PA) initiatives.Responsibilities:Data Compilation: Gather information from various database and non-database sources.Record Preparation: Develop responsive records primarily in Excel, using data extracted from central databases and prepared files.Software Proficiency: Utilize a wide range of software applications, including database connection tools (IMB Informix Connect, Microsoft SQL Server, Hyperion, ODBC, Internet Explorer) and other software (Excel, Toad, FTP, Acrobat, Notepad ++, Textpad, FileZilla).Mainframe Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency or a strong aptitude for learning mainframe interrogation and related software (JCL, COBOL, SYNCSORT, ISPF, SQL, TSO, File Aid).Qualifications:Strong expertise or the ability to quickly acquire proficiency in the following software applications: EXCEL, Toad, JCL, COBOL, SYNCSORT, ISPF, SQL, TSO, File Aid, IMB Informix Connect, Microsoft SQL Server, Hyperion, ODBC, Internet Explorer, FTP, Acrobat, Textpad, FileZilla, and mainframe interrogation.Proven ability to work effectively with databases and data extraction techniques.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.TSI offers a competitive benefits package to include: paid holidays, paid time off including sick and vacation leave, medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, short and long term disability, company paid life insurance, 401(k) with a company match and discretionary profit sharing and tuition reimbursement.
