This facility is a well-established community hospital serving the Northern California coastal region, operating a 32-bed emergency department with a Level 3 trauma designation. The facility benefits from robust 24-hour support services including anesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, catheterization lab, general surgery, laboratory, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, and vascular surgery, ensuring providers have the resources needed to deliver comprehensive emergency care.

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens ED coverage position with a start date of October 1, 2026 on an ongoing basis
• Providers will cover night shifts; day-only availability cannot be accommodated at this time
• Shift times include 6a-2p, 8a-4p, and 1p-11p
• Average patient volume is 110 patients per 24-hour period across a 32-bed emergency department
• Guaranteed hours of 8 per shift; overtime applies after 12 hours and must be pre-approved by the medical director
• Active California medical license required; licensure in CA only will be accepted
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years; ABEM or ABEOM certification required (ABIM and ABFM will not be accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• All providers must have a minimum of 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty
• Gaps greater than 3 months in clinical activity must be explained
• Updated CV with all hospital affiliations must be submitted at the time of presentation
• Two to three professional references (MD name, email, and phone number) must be included with submission for medical director review
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
• Level 3 trauma facility with 24-hour availability of full specialty support services
• Airport parking at provider's departing airport is reimbursable if provider drives themselves; rental car insurance policies must be pre-approved prior to booking
• Ride share and taxi costs from destination airport to lodging and from lodging to hospital are reimbursable

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
