Production SupervisorDepartment: ProductionReports To: Production ManagerLocation: RockwoodJob Type: Full-TimeClassification: Salary / ExemptAvailable ShiftsMPP, a powdered metal manufacturing company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for Production Supervisor positions on our off shifts:2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.3rd Shift: 11:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production activities across the Press, Secondary Finish, and Sintering Departments. This role supports floor leads in executing daily production goals, ensures adherence to quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor also performs key administrative duties, including performance management, reporting, and operational audits, while fostering a safe, productive, and engaged work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily leadership, direction, and support to department leads and production employeesPlan, assign, and adjust workloads to meet production goals and deadlinesCommunicate critical updates to management, including quality, delivery, and operational concernsMonitor and improve employee performance, safety practices, and productivityDeliver regular feedback, coaching, and recognition to team membersLead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and increase efficiencyCollaborate with Operations, Engineering, Setup, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance teamsAssist in evaluating and resolving non-conforming productsEnsure equipment is properly maintained for optimal production outputConduct employee meetings and training sessions as neededReview and manage employee timekeeping and attendance recordsLead or participate in cross-functional teams focused on safety, quality, and performance improvementsPromote positive employee morale and address workplace concernsMaintain an organized, safe, and professional work environmentEnforce company policies and administer disciplinary actions when necessaryMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and work instructionsCoordinate supply ordering and purchase requisitionsSupport production scheduling and communicate delivery timelines with customer serviceAssist with employee performance evaluations and development planningPrepare reports and presentations as requiredRepresent the company in a professional and positive mannerPerform additional duties as assignedEducation & ExperienceTechnical or business degree preferred3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior experience supervising production employees requiredSkills & CompetenciesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with manufacturing ERP systemsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma preferredStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, and sitting in both office and production settingsAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 poundsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredVisual attention to detail for inspections and documentationOccasional bending, squatting, reaching, and twistingFlexibility to work non-standard or off-shift hours as neededSafety ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies and proceduresParticipate in safety training and hazard identification initiativesProperly use PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)Report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediatelyActively support a clean and safe workplaceBenefitsMPP offers a competitive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid holidaysPaid time off (PTO)MPP is committed to providing a safe, productive, and inclusive work environment where employees can grow and succeed.
