Hiring Department MU International Programs Job Description MU International Programs seeks a student-centered, collaborative,and highly energetic professional to serve as Study AbroadAdvisor. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Study Abroad, the StudyAbroad Advisor is a key member of the study abroad team and willplay an active role in our mission, “to provide transformativeglobal learning experiences for MU students.” This is an excitingtime to join the Mizzou Study Abroad team. Student Service Areas Student recruitment Holistic student support and advising Programming and outreach for in person and virtual events Study Abroad Advising & Recruitment duties: Work closely with Study Abroad enrollment management team toactively recruit study abroad participants and accelerate theirapplication completion. Advise about assigned MU-approved study abroad programs inassigned regional locations. Work with assigned academic departments to identify and promotespecific study abroad opportunities for students in these majors.Provide initial study abroad advising for students in theirassigned majors. Provide individual and group advising for students about academicand personal goals, program selection, the application process,policies and procedures, finances, cultural adaptation and healthand safety issues. Develop budgets for assigned MU study abroad programs. Coordinatesadmissions process for all assigned study abroad programs. Advise students about regulations for obtaining a student visa andassist students with obtaining necessary official documentation, asneeded. Conduct information sessions, orientations and post-programdebriefings. Work cooperatively with faculty and other administrativeoffices/units on campus. Represent MU to U.S. and overseas colleagues for assigned MU studyabroad programs. Provide administrative support to Study Abroad Coordinators forfaculty-led programs. All other duties as assigned. Shift 8 am - 5 pm, M-F Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00 hourly Grade: GGS-7 University Title: Student Support Specialist II Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
