Plastic Surgery Nurse

Overview

Join Beleza Plastic Surgery's team as a Plastic Surgery Nurse, supporting patients through consultations, procedures, and recovery. We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team. The responsibilities of this nurse include providing perioperative care under the direct oversight and hands-on guidance of Dr. Anna Wooten, FACS and Marianne Abdalah, PA-C.

To be successful as a plastic surgery nurse, you should be a critical thinker, detail orientated, practice good judgement, and be able to take criticism well. An in-depth knowledge of cosmetic procedures and an excellent bedside manner should be observed. Ultimately, this individual should be a team player, friendly, empathetic, and adaptable.

This job is not an entry step to become an aesthetic injector in this practice. You’ll provide attentive care in a clinical setting, collaborate with providers, and help patients understand their treatment and next steps.

Duties

• Assess patients, obtain vital signs and health histories, support triage, and document care in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Prepare patients and clinical spaces for procedures; follow aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Perform pre-operative phone calls with every surgical patient. This includes education about medications to avoid, restrictions postoperatively, dressings, submersion, and coordination of care
• First assist with office procedures. This includes maintaining sterile technique, setting up sterile tray, drawing up medication, positioning the patient, applying dressings, and putting together all office procedure post-op bags. Will assist in prepping surgical bags and operating equipment to take to the operating room.
• Assist with dressing changes, taking pictures, and writing progress notes. Obtain website consent with a complete, high quality set of pictures.
• Provide documentation during office consults of pertinent information and detailed surgical plan described by Dr Wooten
• Perform patient screening tasks, review medical history and psychosocial status before surgery, ensure patient testing/labwork is complete and received by the clinical team.
• Attend company meetings
• Collaborate with surgeon, physician assistant, and other team members to ensure all the patient's needs are met
• Perform miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned
• Protect patient privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Experience

• Required: Current nursing license appropriate to the role and jurisdiction; patient assessment, medication administration, medical documentation, and patient care skills.
• Preferred: Plastic surgery, outpatient, medical office, operating room (OR), or ambulatory surgery center experience; experience with NexTech or other EHR systems.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, with opportunity for bonuses

Expected hours: 30 – 40 hours per week during business hours (Mon-Fri, 8-5), Mon & Tues, 8-5 availability is absolutely required .
