Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced preferred Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Epic experience required Description: Labor and Delivery RN needed. The position requires 1 year of experience. Shifts are 3x12 Days with every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required. Holiday work may be required. Call duties are included. BLS, FHM, NRP certifications are required. AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification is preferred. Epic system experience is mandatory. The unit has a 12-bed Level 1 LDRP unit with a Level 1 nursery. AWHONN staffing guidelines are utilized. Scrubs will be provided. Travelers must shave for a mask to ensure proper fit testing. CAPRs and PAPRs will not be provided, and personal PAPRs or CAPRs are not allowed at the facility. Failure to comply with fit testing requirements will lead to cancellation. This role encompasses a variety of skills including labor and delivery procedures, mother/baby care, antepartum care, and fetal monitoring. Additional responsibilities include IV therapy, medication administration, pain management, and postpartum care. The unit supports an interdisciplinary approach with various support services available. The expected daily census is approximately 5 patients. Patient age groups include neonates, adults, and geriatrics. The unit specializes in labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Experience in assisting with C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and neonatal resuscitation is preferred. Safety protocols and patient education are vital components of this role.
