Paralegal (Top Secret Clearance Required)

Position Overview Paralegal – Full‑time, Mid‑Level. Works under the Office of General Counsel, providing paralegal support for litigation and discovery tasks. Responsibilities Provide accurate, timely paralegal support, reporting to the OGC and working on LITB or IALB. Receive, prioritize, and process requests such as document review or legal technical assistance. Research and locate responsive information, identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles. Perform moderate to complex legal research, synthesize transcripts and case materials. Draft preliminary legal memoranda, correspondence, motions, briefs, etc., and assist in all phases of litigation. Review discovery materials for relevance and privilege, prepare privilege logs, and maintain accurate records. Assist in drafting and issuing preservation notices, litigation holds, and electronic releases. Generate reports on case assignments and productivity using case‑management databases. Analyze and interpret customer requests, conduct outreach, and gather responsive material. Conduct legal privilege reviews using designated eDiscovery platforms and apply redactions. Review peer work for accuracy and provide constructive edits. Collaborate with management and teams to foster teamwork and decision‑making. Maintain detailed case notes, utilize discovery work plans, and input data into OGC‑LITB tracking database. Provide high‑degree professionalism and customer service to DU customers. Prioritize and schedule projects to meet objectives, and provide weekly status updates to management. Assist in representation efforts and coordinate classification reviews with subject‑matter experts. Serve as a consultant on privilege application and document production for government employees. Conduct searches of FBI systems and databases to retrieve relevant documents. Support the Legal Hold program, Freeze List, and information‑management tasks. Qualifications Paralegal certificate, JD, or current enrollment in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study. Minimum of two years litigation paralegal experience; trial experience preferred. At least one year of automated litigation support experience. In-depth knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Hands‑on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Experience with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures. Ability to deliver high‑quality work under extreme pressure. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
