Lab Technician (On-Call) /Madison WI - (On-Site)

This is an on-call, as needed position to assist in covering

rotational shifts of days, mids, and nights and weekends, office-based position in Madison, WI.

As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US.

Lab Technician (On-Call) , to coordinate and ensure procedures for handling and process. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience in clinical research.

On-Call , office based position in

Madison, WI .

If you join us, you will work with some of the worlds leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in a vital stage of clinical development: establishing the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a new drug.

Many Technicians are drawn to their profession because of its direct impact on patient care. If this is your case, you will not miss that working in Phase 1 trials. Whilst allowing you to have a close face-to-face relationship with participants, and as you continue to practice your clinical skills and knowledge, youll be involved with the latest medical technologies and treatments, witnessing their development firsthand. When the drug you worked with gets approved, you know youll touch many patients lives around the world.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will utilize your skills, knowledge, and clinical judgement to provide a high standard of care for participants in clinical trials and respond to emergency situations based upon clinical research standards.

Other key responsibilities: Follows the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.

Operates laboratory equipment.

Recognizes deviations from expected results and follows up appropriately.

Processes and ships PK samples according to study specific instructions.

Performs phlebotomy as needed.

Participates in the collection of biological specimens. Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.

Facilitates the work flow through the laboratory to ensure completion of processing in a timely manner.

Operates and utilizes all communications systems available in the laboratory; telephones, copiers, facsimile machines and pagers.

Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment.

Inventories reagents and supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Handles hazardous materials, reagents and chemicals in a safe manner in accordance to laboratory policy and procedure.

Washes laboratory glassware and maintains general laboratory cleanliness.

Completes special projects.

Supports and participates in Corporate and Department initiatives regarding quality system implementation, maintenance, and continuous quality improvement activities.

And all other duties assigned.

YOU NEED TO BRING... Associates Degree or equivalent.

1 year of laboratory experience.

Additional laboratory experience may be substituted for education requirements.

English written and oral communication required

Fortrea may consider relevant equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements

Previous clinical experience is ideal, but not a must. We are open to consider recent graduates or any recent clinical experience.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.

Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.

Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.

Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.

Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.

Regular and consistent attendance.

Varied hours may be required.
