Mail Clerk Opportunity
Our client is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Mail Clerks to support school testing operations during a busy assessment period.
Candidates will work alongside existing staff and receive training on all processes and procedures. Due to the time-sensitive nature of school assessment materials, the environment is deadline-driven and requires individuals who can maintain accuracy while working at a steady pace.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and unpack incoming mail and materials
- Prepare, organize, and package outgoing mail and testing materials
- Operate scanning and printing machines
- Perform basic data entry and information lookup tasks
- Maintain records, notes, and filing systems
- Alphabetize and organize documents and testing materials
- Process incoming materials for scanning and distribution
- Assist with printing and mailing approximately 500 school assessment answer sheet packages
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive testing documents
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to communicate professionally through email and written correspondence
- Ability to follow instructions and work within established procedures
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to lift and move reams of paper, packages, and document boxes throughout the workday
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with continuous movement
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous mailroom, clerical, scanning, filing, or production support experience preferred
- Experience with NYS assessments is helpful but not required
