Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist will conduct inventory counts, enter count data into relevant systems, place orders with local suppliers, and replenish stock on the floor routinely. They will also assist the Purchasing team with validating low stock warnings, assist with stockouts, and partake in regular cycle counts.

They will work with freight companies to schedule stock deliveries. They will also partner with the Production Leadership to plan and execute safe, accurate and timely unloading of container shipments.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing daily inventory operations with a high level of independence while proactively partnering with the Supervisor and the Leadership Team to communicate priorities, resolve issues, and ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Conduct regular stock-takes and cycle counts of all stock on hand (SOH). Complete stock checks safely, accurately and promptly.

• Conduct bi-monthly counts (Mid-Month and EOM) as required by the Purchasing Team and input SOH data into required sheets and communications

• Perform daily cycle counts to validate movement of inventory is following the correct processes.

• Action internal processes in the event of stockouts as noted in Trainual.

• Process approved Purchase Orders to local suppliers.

• Reach out to suppliers on urgent requirements. Maintain a partnership with all suppliers.

• Assist with quality checks on product batches as requested by the Leadership or Purchasing Team.

• Receive incoming orders in the system. To include the safe, accurate and timely receipt, labeling, and putaway of stock. Liaise with the Purchasing Team in the event of any discrepancies.

• Responsible for training of individuals assigned to support Inventory functions. (i.e. stock take and cycle counting. Container unloading and putaway).

• Pull inventory using FIFO method unless instructed differently by Purchasing.

• Replenish working stock safely, proactively and accurately.

• Assist with ad hoc tasks as required.

• Demonstrated experience in inventory-related roles and processes and a strong understanding of a production environment.

• Above average computer literacy.

• Experience operating a forklift

• Experience in a fast-paced work environment.

• Analytical problem solving skills.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and cleanliness.

• The role involves working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and equipment.

• The position will require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
