Registered Nurse - Outpatient - Triage - Hematology/Oncology - West MOB

Overview We are seeking an individual with a minimum of one year of RN experience for this role. Part‑time and full‑time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position performs duties associated with phone triage, symptom management, care coordination and may include direct in‑clinic patient care and quality improvement activities. The incumbent ensures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, educates/instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments, and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Telephone nursing care involves the establishment of a nurse‑patient relationship and is facilitated by the nursing process. Position Details Triage RN position in Hematology/Oncology Clinic located at IUH West Medical Office Building. Core office hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. No weekends, no holidays, no call. Qualifications Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Two years' experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies. Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner. Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
