A leading California law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Docket Supervisor to oversee its IP docketing function and manage a team of Docket Specialists. This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented professional with deep experience in patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution docketing, who can lead operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance across all deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the IP docketing team and overall docketing function.
• Review and docket incoming correspondence from USPTO, foreign associates, and trademark offices.
• Maintain and audit docket systems to ensure all deadlines are accurate and up to date.
• Develop and implement standardized docketing procedures and quality control processes.
• Serve as liaison between attorneys, docketing team, and external vendors (AltLegal, Anaqua, Foundation IP).
• Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly docket reports.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of all docketed matters.
• Support file transfers and assist with verification of docket entries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of patent and trademark docketing experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of USPTO systems (e.g., eTEAS, TESS, TSDR, TTAB, PAIR).
• Experience with iManage and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with docketing platforms such as AltLegal, Anaqua, or Foundation IP.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary Range: $110,000-$135,000 (based on experience)
• Hybrid work schedule
• Comprehensive benefits package including health benefits, 401(k) with a profit sharing contribution, 10 vacation days and 10 sick days to start
