Project Manager

Overview The Prince George's County Office of Central Services (OCS) seeks a Senior project manager (Contract Project Coordinator 4G) to oversee County construction projects. Duties include reviewing bid documents, coordinating procurement, overseeing design, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with County policies. Responsibilities Spearhead design and construction of County major and renovation projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery. Advise management on contract development, monitoring, and procurement procedures. Identify and resolve design, cost, and contractual issues. Collaborate with agency representatives to address work changes and impact on personnel. Review drawings and specifications for compliance with County standards. Negotiate contracts and agreements with government agencies. Coordinate with local, state, and federal entities to secure approvals. Analyze proposals, forecast costs, and prepare communications. Present project status updates to senior management. Establish professional contacts to foster collaboration and support small businesses. Develop a platform for project communication and visibility (PAAS). Support various design and construction projects as special coordinator. Work with diverse County agencies, including Corrections, Police, and Libraries. Perform additional tasks as assigned within the occupational scope. Minimum Qualifications Accredited degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Four (4) years of experience in inspection, construction supervision, or engineering; one (1) year supervisory experience. Valid Class C driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of progressive experience in project programming, design, and management of construction projects. Experience managing multiple projects, conducting walkthroughs, approving submittals, facilitating meetings, and completing warranties. Proficiency with Procore, AutoCAD, procurement platforms, scheduling and cost estimating software. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Experience reporting to stakeholders and creating professional presentations. Knowledge of major mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings. Conditions of Employment Maintain valid Class C driver’s license. Meet training and performance standards. Use protective apparel and equipment as required. Pass pre‑employment background checks, reference checks, and drug screening. Be available as an essential employee during standard, non‑standard, or emergency hours.
