Food Service Aide

This part-time position preps food to serve students, preps salad bar, and cleans up after lunch service. Four hours per day.

Basic Function: Under the direction of the business manager and principal. Under supervision to manage and operate a receiving kitchen facility in a school and to do related work as required.

Representative Duties:

• Receives meals delivered from vendor and verifies accuracy in amounts.
• Cooks food requiring cooking and insures uncooked food is at proper temperature for serving.
• Serves lunches to students.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, counters, sinks, etc.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of procedures used in serving of food
• Health and sanitation requirements
• Ability to effectively serve student meals in allotted amount of time
• Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work

Valid Food Handlers Certificate or ability to obtain and retain once hired
