- Availability during school hours (MondayThursday, mornings and early afternoons) is essential for this position.
- Greet and engage students, making every session welcoming and inspiring
- Teach using Sylvans structured, research-based math and ELA programs
- Celebrate progress with praise, encouragement, and Sylvan tokens
- Track student growth and communicate successes with center staff
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and motivating environment
- Current or retired K-12 teacher (or strong experience with this age group)
- Experience teaching math up to Pre-Algebra and/or ELA/Reading
- A genuine passion for motivating and inspiring students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility, problem-solving ability, and a team-player attitude
- Degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or related field is a plus
