System Architect

Job Description The System Architect leads the definition of end-to-end system architecture and product vision for next-generation clinical solutions, translating customer needs and emerging technologies into scalable product designs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Define system architecture and product direction; translate customer needs, clinical workflows, and emerging technologies into clear system requirements and performance targets. Break down high-level concepts into actionable subsystem requirements with end-to-end traceability. Establish system boundaries, interfaces, and integration strategies; conduct trade-off studies and mitigate system-level risks. Lead rapid prototyping to validate architecture, de-risk key technologies, and accelerate learning. Provide technical leadership and execution discipline: mentor a cross-functional team, drive Agile sprint planning, facilitate design and architecture reviews. Collaborate across the organization with Product Management, Clinical teams, Quality/Regulatory, Manufacturing, and external partners to ensure feasibility, manufacturability, and scalability. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Computer, Biomedical Engineering). 15+ years of experience designing and developing complex products that integrate multiple engineering disciplines. 5+ years of system-level architecture experience, owning system design, subsystem definition, and integration. Track record of delivering innovative products from concept through market. Willingness to travel 10–15%. Preferred: Experience with tight hardware/software integration, wearable/head-mounted ergonomics, regulated medical devices. Systems thinker, deep technical breadth across electro-mechanical systems, optics, and software; architectural leadership; bias for action; Agile mindset; strong communication; customer-focused; hands-on prototyping lab experience; discretion with sensitive information. Compensation Target salary range: $131,300 – $160,500. Additional incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401(k) match, and other applicable plans may be provided.
