Registered Nurse In Intensive Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Open Heart experience including CABG, Valve post-op, Impella, IABP, and CRRT - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment - Vents, NIH, IV Start, ICP, and Conscious Sedation experience - Associate's Degree in Nursing or BSN - EPIC experience required Description: RNs are needed with Open Heart experience. The expected patient ratios are 1:2 for Critical Care and 1:3 for Intermediate level patients. The traveler may be the first to float as assigned. Travelers may float in and out of specialty clusters based on staffing needs. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The organization reserves the right to cancel two shifts due to low census. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. Floating may be required within the facility or to nearby locations. Candidates must be comfortable floating without restrictions. Knowledge and skills for this role include managing ventilated patients, caring for patients with hemodynamic instability, and administering blood products. Daily census on the unit is approximately 24, with a capacity of 26 beds. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including Physical Therapy and Respiratory Services. The unit provides a range of specialized care for various patient diagnoses, including cardiac surgeries. Candidates must be available to complete any required lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exams within a set timeframe upon acceptance. This position requires a proactive approach to care and a commitment to customer service.
