Hematology / Oncology Locum Tenens Physician

One of our Partners in Palm Springs, California is seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a flexible outpatient locum tenens opportunity running June through August 2026.

This assignment offers:

Outpatient-only oncology coverage
No call responsibilities
Flexible block scheduling
Modern cancer care environment
Strong clinical support staff
Desirable Southern California location

Providers will see approximately 12-20 patients per day in a well-supported outpatient oncology practice utilizing AllScripts Sunrise EMR. This assignment is ideal for physicians seeking predictable weekday scheduling with strong compensation in a travel-friendly destination market.

Provider Pay Ranking: Top 10-15% of comparable Hematology/Oncology locum assignments in the current 2026 market.

Assignment Highlights

Outpatient oncology only
No inpatient rounding requirements
No surgical center privileges required
No call responsibilities
Average patient volume: 12-20 patients daily
AllScripts Sunrise EMR
RN and MA support provided
Office support staff onsite
Board Certification required
California license required at presentation
90-day credentialing timeline
HPA Healthcare is Joint Commission-certified
Active member of NALTO
Travel and lodging assistance available
Malpractice insurance coverage provided by HPA Healthcare

Job Responsibilities

Outpatient hematology and oncology evaluations
Chemotherapy management and treatment planning
Follow-up oncology care
Admissions as clinically necessary
Coordination with nursing and oncology support staff
Documentation within AllScripts Sunrise EMR
Participation in multidisciplinary oncology care planning
