This role will be part of the most rapidly growing segment within Fluor, one that spearheads transformative projects in life sciences.The Commercial Strategies Lead provides leadership in developing and executing supply chain commercial strategies that influence capital cost, execution risk, schedule certainty, and overall business outcomes for Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical projects and pursuits.This role supports large, capital‑intensive facilities such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical manufacturing projects, and partners with project leadership, global category management, and centralized procurement teams to drive optimal sourcing and risk mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle.Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of supply chain commercial strategies for Life Sciences capital projects capital projectsServe as a trusted commercial advisor to project, proposal, and functional leadershipProvide commercial strategy leadership for projects involving process skids, cleanroom systems, GMP‑related equipment, validated utilities, specialty piping, and balance‑of‑plant scopeAnalyze commodity, industry, and supplier market trends and translate insights into actionable strategiesPartner with Global Category Managers to define sourcing and bidder list strategies for critical equipment and materialsProvide oversight of estimating assumptions, benchmarks, and market intelligence to support capital cost developmentCollaborate closely with a centralized, globally distributed sourcing team across time zonesApply Fluor commercial risk management frameworks and advise on lump sum and reimbursable execution strategiesDefine negotiation, purchase order, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with prime contract requirementsMentor and guide Commercial Strategies Specialists and support knowledge transfer across the SCCS organizationPresent commercial strategies and recommendations to senior leadership and clients as requiredMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years’ of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years’ if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field10+ years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain, commercial strategy, procurement, or project delivery rolesExperience supporting Life Sciences or other highly regulated capital projects, such as pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing, or medical manufacturing facilitiesStrong understanding of supply chain commercial strategies, market intelligence, and risk management.Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.Proficiency in Excel spread sheetsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
