Senior Security Engineer DSPM

Salary: $124,000 - 164,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS/BTech degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or 8 years of security-domain experience in lieu of a degree.
• We need 4+ years of experience serving as a trusted advisor in a team environment, balancing immediate needs with long-term business impact.
• We need 4+ years of experience coaching or mentoring other engineers or analysts.
• We expect experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Postgres, Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS S3, as well as data architectures including warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses.
• We value experience with data discovery, classification, and cataloging tools or frameworks.
• We require understanding of protecting PII/PHI and regulatory expectations for healthcare data, including HIPAA and data privacy considerations.
• We need proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python, for automation and integration.
• We expect experience using regex patterns and scripting.
• We need strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.
• Preferred: prior experience in healthcare or health-tech environments, including electronic health records and clinical data.
• Preferred: experience focused on tooling, automation, and distributed systems development.
• Preferred: experience generating automated metrics to measure service and program effectiveness and consistency.
• Preferred: strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to varied audiences.
• Preferred: experience with Data Security Posture Management platforms or DSPM tools such as Wiz DSPM, BigID, Cyera, or Bedrock Data.
• Preferred: experience integrating security controls into data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Preferred: familiarity with legal hold processes, data retention, and lifecycle management.
• Preferred: experience working in healthcare, health tech, or other highly regulated environments.
• We note that the role involves prolonged sitting, extensive computer and keyboard use, and occasional walking and lifting.

• We work cross-functionally to design, build, and run solutions that continuously strengthen and automate our security capabilities.
• We use data to identify trends, metrics, and opportunities that can improve our security posture, then drive execution with stakeholders.
• We lead and improve incident response, including analysis, containment, mitigation, and cross-functional remediation of security events.
• We help develop and refine security program documentation, including policies, standards, baselines, and standard operating procedures.
• We mentor and coach more junior engineers and analysts.
