Scope of Position

This analytical and results-oriented individual, as part of the Corporate Marketing team, will support a strategic initiative focused on improving visibility into Watts' sales performance across key end-market verticals. The intern will leverage data analysis, customer segmentation, and stakeholder collaboration to transform product-level sales data into actionable business insights and develop a sustainable framework for ongoing market segmentation and reporting.

This position reports to Marketing. This role is hybrid and is based in N Andover, MA

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Consolidate and organize multiple years of product-level sales data into a clean, documented, and usable dataset.

• Partner with Marketing leadership to establish and apply end-market vertical segmentation standards and taxonomy.

• Develop product- and bill-of-material-based classification logic to identify likely end-market verticals when customer information is unavailable.

• Analyze sales, customer, and transaction data to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities across market segments.

• Conduct outreach with agency representatives and distributors to validate customer information and improve segmentation accuracy.

• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide leadership with actionable market and sales insights.

• Document methodologies, assumptions, data sources, and classification rules to support future business use.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and external partners to gather information and align on project objectives.

• Develop recommendations to improve future customer and market segmentation data collection processes.

• Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Strategic Marketing Research, Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)

Required Qualifications

• Current student (senior status)

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Strategy, Market Research, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and lookup functions.

• Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Demonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions with others, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

• Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and following through on commitments.

• Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.

• Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.

• Prior internship, project work, or coursework involving real-world data analysis.

• Exposure to B2B, industrial manufacturing, or channel sales environments.

• Experience with data governance, customer segmentation, or business analytics initiatives.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. You will be required to work in the office at the N Andover, MA location three days per week (Monday – Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday).

Physical Requirements : Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.

• Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.

• Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks.

• Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.

• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

• Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.

• Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.

• Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.

Pay Range: $21-23 per hour

The expected hourly range for this position is $21-23 per hour . Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
