Organization: Greater Austin Merchants Cooperative Association Job Title: Cashier Location: 8801 Research Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78758 Reports To: Front End Manager - Aslam Ladhani Position Type: Full-Time; Flexible Schedule; Monday-Saturday Company Description: The Greater Austin Merchant Association, Inc. is one of the leading independent convenience store cooperatives in the nation. GAMA provides many benefits and values to its members. GAMA operates a full-service warehouse and distribution center supplying goods and services to the convenience store industry. General Summary: Ensures accurate scanning of all items being purchased. Responsible for handling all payments and transactions correctly. Accountable for accurately balancing cash tray daily. Maintain accurate distribution of customer orders for pick up. Required to complete work assignment to meet dispatch times. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Look up order from POS system, then pull merchandise from floor Ring customer order maintaining accuracy Collect payments Add merchandise to boxes after scanning Keep product in staging area organized Keep floor and dock area clean Maintain clean and safe work environment Accountable for maintaining pertinent company assets Experience and Skills Payment transaction experience Certified on all equipment necessary to perform duties Good communications skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Educational Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements Prolonged walking and standing for 8 continuous hours including but not limited to a concrete or tile surface Product replenishing which includes frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing and pulling Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
