Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive med-surgical nursing care to acute adult patients in a hospital setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and recovery through skilled clinical interventions and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess clinical status to identify changes or deterioration.
• Document patient care activities accurately using Meditech or comparable electronic health records systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and discharge procedures.
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Float between units as needed, providing consistent, high-quality care under varying conditions.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent med-surgical nursing experience.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, patient assessment, and clinical procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts, including every other weekend.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
