Sales Representative - Fossil and Mineral Store

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sales Representative to join our specialty store focused on fossils, gemstones, and minerals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for geology, paleontology, and natural history, combined with strong customer service and sales skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Engagement: Greet customers, understand their needs, and provide expert advice on fossils, gems, and minerals.
• Sales & Upselling: Drive sales by recommending products, explaining their origin, properties, and value. Bonuses paid out monthly for sales above the goal set by Ownner.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of inventory, including identification, classification, and care of specimens.
• Inventory Management: Assist with stock organization, labeling, and restocking displays. Wedsite inventory management also required.
• Shipping and packaging of orders: Correctly packing and shipping on-orders and Amazon orders to customers.
• Store Presentation: Ensure displays are visually appealing and educational.
• Transaction Handling: Process sales accurately using POS systems and handle cash/card payments.
• Education & Events: Participate in store events, workshops, and educational sessions to promote products.
•   Customer Service: Handle inquiries, returns, and resolve issues professionally.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; background in geology, paleontology, or related field preferred.
• Previous retail or sales experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and explain scientific concepts in an engaging way.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Comfortable working weekends and holidays.

Skills:

• Knowledge of fossils, gemstones, and minerals, or willing to learn.
• Excellent customer service and sales techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Retail store setting with occasional educational events.
• Requires standing for extended periods and handling delicate specimens.
