Corrections Officer – Henderson Police Department Under general supervision, the Corrections Officer performs security work overseeing and directing the activities of inmates within the Detention Center and during transport to other facilities, and performs related duties as required. Qualifications Graduation from high school or the equivalent. Valid driver license; upon hire, possess a Nevada or "border state" driver license in accordance with Nevada Revised Statute 483.035. U.S. citizen at the time of application. At least 20 years of age at the time of application and 21 by the start of the academy. No convictions for offenses greater than a misdemeanor or domestic violence. Visual acuity correctable to 20/40 in one eye and 20/30 in both eyes. Hearing at 30 decibels or less for each ear. Successful completion of the Henderson Police Department Academy within the prescribed timeframe. Pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based background check and warrant check. Complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire and maintain certification every two years.
