Designer II - Architecture

Studio - Oakland High Density

Applying their knowledge and the thoughtful techniques required for urban development, Oakland High Density has a passion for context-sensitive density and affordable housing design. Always looking to the future, they explore innovative technologies to support the client’s goals and maximize value on tricky sites. They are experts at understanding and applying codes and allowances to get the most benefit from the entitlement phase, while securing buy-in from neighbors and municipalities. Oakland HD leads from the front, emphasizing career growth, guidance and feedback for all team members.

Your Impact

KTGY's Designer II fills an important role as part of the conceptual design team focused on the early stages of projects. Designers captain the development of conceptual design and entitlement sets, coordinate with other team members as needed for feedback and direction, and participate in the aesthetic development of projects, crafting memorable places that enhance people's lives.

Design

With the project team, develops aesthetic principles that reflect a project's narrative and purpose. Develops internal workflow and general understanding of order, timeline and tasks to support project milestones.

Collaboration

Actively begins to share ideas and best practices with others, particularly Project Associates. Develops collegial relationships with technical colleagues.

Care

Develops the ability to balance "competing goods" including a building's effect on its occupants and the environment around it.

Partnership

Interprets and articulates clients' goals and needs to the project team. Assists in developing strategies to meet client objectives, while helping to manage client expectations. Verifies and maintains accuracy of key project data, ensuring alignment between client requirements and design deliverables.

The range that the Company expects to pay is $35.00 - $45.00/hour.
