Substitute Custodian Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island Job Details Job ID: 5716544 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 15, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Position Type: Part-time Salary: $16 Per Hour Job Categories: Support Staff > Custodian Job Description Assignment: District Wide - location and hours to be determined as district needs. Function: Directly responds to the Director of Operations and the building principal for providing services which will afford students a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop. Assumes responsibility for general security of the building. Assumes responsibility for the general fire safety of the building. Responsible for all general cleaning and maintenance of his/her job station. Performs cleaning services as necessary. Assists in snow removal. Requisitions and receives cleaning supplies and equipment, and maintains necessary inventories. Generally supervises and maintains the school grounds. Cleans and maintains all tools and equipment. Daily: Sweeps floors, empties waste paper baskets, dusts ledges, windowsills, bookcases, cleans glass partitions, sinks, lavatories and water fountains. Washes, waxes and seals floors according to prescribed procedures and schedules. Performs other general related tasks as may be assigned. This is a day to day, on call position. Job Requirements Good moral character. Must demonstrate neatness in appearance and work. Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports. Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks. Must be physically able to perform tasks which at times may require lifting and carrying of materials weighing as much as 50 lbs. or more. Consistent reliable attendance Clear BCI through National Fingerprinting required by Law, at a personal cost of $45 Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
