Production Coordinator - Ladies/Kids/Sleepwear

The Cayre Group is seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to join our Ladies/Kids Sleepwear team. For more than 30 years, The Cayre Group has been a leader in the design, production and distribution of apparel and accessories across multiple brands, private-label programs, price tiers and retail channels. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented production professional with 2–4+ years of hands-on apparel production experience who understands the apparel production cycle and is ready to take ownership of assigned styles and vendors. This is not an entry-level production position. We will train the successful candidate on our specific internal systems and processes; however, candidates should already understand how a garment moves from development and purchase order through production and shipment. Responsibilities Manage assigned styles and vendors throughout the production process from purchase order through shipment. Issue and maintain purchase orders and monitor production status and critical dates. Create, maintain and update production trackers, WIP reports, sample status reports and T&A/critical-date tracking in Excel. Track development, fit, pre-production/PP and TOP samples and associated approvals. Follow up on fabric, trim, color, artwork/print, packaging and labeling approvals. Monitor testing, compliance and inspection requirements. Track ex-factory dates, delivery dates and other key production milestones. Communicate directly with overseas factories and vendors regarding production status, samples, approvals, outstanding items and delivery requirements. Coordinate and communicate with Walmart PD, UL Lab, Colorflow and BV inspectors as required. Maintain accurate and current production and sample-status information across multiple styles and vendors. Proactively follow up on missing approvals, late samples, testing issues and other outstanding production items. Identify potential production issues or delays and elevate concerns before they affect delivery. Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to keep production moving according to schedule. Follow production issues through resolution and communicate status clearly to appropriate team members and management. Maintain organized and accurate production records and supporting documentation. Qualifications 2–4+ years of hands-on apparel production experience required. Experience managing styles through the apparel production process rather than providing primarily administrative support. Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors. Working knowledge of the overall apparel production cycle, including purchase orders, samples, approvals, production timelines and shipment. Basic understanding of garment construction. Familiarity with WIP reporting, T&A/critical dates, sample tracking, testing/compliance and production approvals. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including the ability to independently create, maintain and update production trackers, WIP reports and other production spreadsheets. Ability to review a production tracker, understand where a style stands in the production process and identify the next required action or critical date. Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple styles, vendors and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to recognize potential production problems and elevate concerns appropriately. Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities and consistently follow issues through completion. Preferred Experience Walmart production experience and familiarity with Walmart systems and processes strongly preferred. Experience supporting production for other major retailers. Familiarity with retailer requirements involving compliance, testing, labeling, packaging, inspection and shipping. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will already understand the fundamentals of apparel production and be able to quickly learn our specific processes and systems. You should be able to look at your assigned styles and understand where they are in the production process, what needs to happen next, which critical dates are approaching and when something requires immediate attention. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates consistently with factories and vendors, maintains accurate production tracking, follows up without needing repeated direction and identifies potential issues before they become larger production problems.
