Job Summary The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Composite Vehicle Maintainer, DMU to support the reliability, safety, and performance of its Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) fleet. This critical role is responsible for performing complex preventive, corrective, emergency, and modification maintenance on mechanical systems, electrical components, and integrated vehicle subsystems to maximize fleet availability and operational excellence. The Composite Vehicle Maintainer (CVM) utilizes advanced diagnostic techniques to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and maintain diesel engines, electrical and electronic systems, propulsion components, braking systems, HVAC, and other mission‑critical vehicle equipment. All maintenance activities are performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Federal and State regulations, inspection standards, and established DMU maintenance procedures to ensure the highest levels of safety, compliance, and equipment reliability.
