Position Overview:

This role involves delivering direct nursing care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather comprehensive information relevant to the patient from the individual, family, and other healthcare professionals to create a complete understanding of the patient's needs or condition.
• Evaluate and integrate data from assessments to determine diagnoses or conditions pertinent to care.
• Collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to identify optimal outcomes for the patient.
• Formulate a plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with the patient, family, and care team.
• Execute the plan, employing methods to ensure a safe environment, and coordinating efforts with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Assess processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
• Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, reflect on personal practice, and stay updated with current knowledge and skills.
• Communicate effectively across all areas of practice, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize clinical inquiry and incorporate best evidence into practice.
• Implement evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience:

• No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly use speech for oral communication.
• Consistently stand and walk.
• Frequently lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Occasionally sit, reach, and engage in data entry.
• Regularly utilize vision and depth perception for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as to identify and differentiate colors.
• Frequently use smell to detect and recognize odors.
• Regularly use hearing to receive oral communication and identify body sounds or alarms.
• Occasionally lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasionally assist in lifting/moving patients.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.
• Occasionally drive.
• Rarely crawl or run.
