Job Summary

As a Telemetry Technician, you will be responsible for the ongoing surveillance of patients' cardiac rhythms, promptly identifying and reporting any abnormalities or life-threatening arrhythmias to the nursing staff following established protocols. Your expertise will help ensure timely interventions and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters of telemetry patients.
• Accurately observe, document, and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Recognize rhythm abnormalities and immediately notify the Registered Nurse.
• Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment effectively.
• Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and emergency situations.
• Maintain composure and communicate clearly in high-pressure environments.
• Manage documentation of patient monitoring initiation and discontinuation, ensuring confidentiality.
• Utilize office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephones, and computers for communication and record-keeping.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Telemetry Technician or ECG interpretation course is preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a patient care setting preferred.
• Telemetry Technician experience is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.

• Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation with the ability to pass certification exams.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and passing annual competency tests.

Work Schedule

This position involves 12-hour night shifts on a PRN basis, typically from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
