IL08-Prairie State Fly Ash, Marissa, IL, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1574 JOB SUMMARY A mechanic assistant, also known as a mechanic helper, is an entry-level position. This role involves assisting experienced mechanics with a variety of tasks related to machinery and mobile equipment maintenance and repair. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Comply with Eco Material Technologies’ safety policies and procedures. Assist experienced mechanics with inspecting machinery and mobile equipment to identify mechanical issues. Assist with performing routine maintenance tasks on machinery and mobile equipment. Assist with performing repairs machinery and mobile equipment. Help keep the work area clean and organized including sweeping floors, organizing tools and equipment, and disposing of waste materials. Learn from experienced technicians and gain valuable hands-on experience. May assist with other parts of the plant operation. Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Basic mechanical knowledge and hand and power tool proficiency Ability to follow safety protocols and adhere to company safety standards Ability to read and follow policies, procedures and instructions. Must be able to take direction from manager and experienced mechanics. Must have problem-solving abilities, manual dexterity, and attention to detail. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various levels of the organization. Adaptable and willing to learn and work in a team Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other pertinent operating systems. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The employee should have the following: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training certificate or associate’s degree in related field a plus 0-1 years’ experience in a relevant field. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out Prolong standing or in stationary position Complete repetitive movements Bend and/or twist Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions Must tolerate an environment with inside ambient temperatures.
