About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to oversee the management of employees, equipment, and budget in accordance with the company's guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of all operations, including equipment maintenance, container operations, breakbulk, crane operations, and ship operations. This role involves providing executive support, monitoring revenue and expenses, setting productivity goals, and ensuring a safe work environment. The Vice President of Operations will also be involved in the continuous program of personnel management, setting long-term goals, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders. Applicants for the Vice President of Operations position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' related work experience, with at least 10 years' in a management role. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in modern container terminals, handling equipment, intermodal rail operations, and vessel operations. Knowledge of general business procedures in the shipping industry is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to interact professionally with staff at all levels, as well as with the general public. A TWIC and a valid state driver's license are also required upon hire.
