Staff Tax Accountant

Dizenhaus, Azevedo, and Associates LLP is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing tax and bookkeeping practice in New York. At DAA, we go beyond the numbers. About the Role The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day client accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to grow within a client-focused accounting firm. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate bookkeeping records for clients Assist with individual and business tax preparation Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations Record journal entries and maintain general ledger activity Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports Support sales tax, payroll, and year-end accounting projects Communicate with clients to request documents and answer basic accounting questions Assist senior accountants and partners with tax planning and advisory projects Help ensure deadlines are met during tax season and throughout the year Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or tax experience preferred Experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills Interest in tax, bookkeeping, business accounting, and client advisory work CPA track or EA interest is a plus, but not required What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys working with clients, and wants to be part of a firm that values personalized service.
