Senior Manager, JV/Investment Accounting Be the First to Apply Job Info Job Identification 7796 Job Category Finance Job Schedule Full time Job Description Position: Senior Manager, JV/Investment Accounting and Reporting The Role We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations for our Joint Venture investment portfolio. This role reports to the Senior Director JV/Investment Accounting and reporting. This role will oversee the monthly close process, financial reporting, internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, experience in real estate or private equity, and a proven ability to manage teams and complex financial structures. What you’ll do Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for joint venture entities and operating properties. Review and approve journal entries and workpapers. Prepare and review account reconciliations and analysis, including cash, investment and equity, identifying potential issues and following up with resolutions. Prepare month end, quarter end and year-end income statement flux preparation and analysis for joint ventures. Process includes a thorough investigation of changes in, for instance, operating revenues and expenses. Timely closing of Joint Ventures’ performance results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and/or fair value reporting standards for joint ventures managed by Digital Realty. Lead year-end audit and tax processes, including coordination with external auditors and internal tax group. Perform technical accounting research and translating accounting literature into actionable solutions. Ongoing support of internal customer needs, specifically Asset Management, Property Operations, Sales, FPA, and Legal teams. Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships. What you’ll need 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a portion of it being in a supervisory role, preferable with public accounting experience or experience with U.S. publicly listed company. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. A related advanced degree is desirable but not required. CPA required. Strong background in real estate accounting, including property-level and joint venture investment reporting. Experience with REITs, private equity structures, or real estate funds is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of US GAAP accounting, reporting and SOX compliance. Proficient in real estate accounting systems, Yardi experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis. Demonstrated proficiency in technical accounting research. High degree of comfort and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. A quick learner. Advanced Excel knowledge is a must as this position will work with complex Excel spreadsheets on a monthly basis.
