Communications Manager - Aviation

STV is seeking a Communications Manager to join our Aviation group. This position will support one of our aviation clients (5 days week onsite) at their location in Chicago, Illinois.This position will assist our Aviation group to establish a communications program and manage stakeholder and public touch points for aviation projects. The role will bring consistent and professional communication streams to all key stakeholders including clients, airlines, airport operators and employees, consumers, media, and the general public to meet goals and promote a positive perception of the program, the client, and STV. The ideal candidate has a creative mindset, strong organizational and communication skills and is passionate about client advocacy and service.Responsibilities include:Work directly with the client to create a unique program brand“Subject matter expert” on all issues related to program communicationsWork with program leadership to develop yearly strategic communication plans to meet program goalsServe as project manager for communications initiatives for the programWork directly with project stakeholders to establish and manage a consistent flow of internal and external communication streams with a focus on logistics, project status updates, and public relations/news through various avenuesPromote the program brand by designing and updating super-graphics, signage and wayfinding, digital content via kiosks, social media, and a program specific websiteCreate, publish, install and manage comprehensive airport maps for public awareness during constructionUpdate and maintain internal graphics library for referenceWrite original content for social media, website, collateral materials, etc.Implement strategic concepts, messaging, and positioning content within written and presentation materialsWork with corporate and local resources to identify and pursue media coverageLead planning and coordination of events such as groundbreaking, team milestone celebrations, grand opening, etc.Technical Skills/Qualifications:Client-focused and has a strong work ethicAbility to effectively coordinate all aspects of communication planClear and persuasive writing skills to produce content for a variety of communication streamsConsistent command of grammar, proofreading, punctuation and business writing skillsUnderstand how to write press releases and relate to the mediaOversee, monitor and enhance program presence in both traditional and online mediaDemonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with enhanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud with enhanced proficiency in InDesign and PhotoshopDemonstrate full proficiency in presentation design, development and useAbility to interpret various content types and information to transform into campaigns, presentations and high-impact visualsSelf-motivated decision maker and problem solverPhotography and videography skills are a plusA/E/C industry knowledge is a plusBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing/Communications, PR/Journalism, or related disciplineOrganizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCompensation Range:$116,930.89 - $133,635.31STV offers the following benefits • Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) • Disability insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • 401(k) Plan • Retirement Counseling • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off (starting at 16 days) • Paid Holidays (9 days) • Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year) • Parental Leave (up to 80 hours) • Continuing Education Program • Professional Licensure and Society MembershipsSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
