Position Manufacturing Engineer (Exp in Medical Device and Regulated Industry) Location Durham, NC Duration 6 Months Total Hours per Week 40.00 Shift 1st Shift (Monday‑Friday day shift) Client Medical Devices Company Job Category Engineering Experience Level Mid-Level Employment Type Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders or GC EAD or OPT or EAD or CPT) On‑site Requirement Onsite daily - LOCALS ONLY Description The Manufacturing Engineer will support the Manufacturing team to enable production to meet the ship schedule and provide a high‑quality product to client Parata’s customers. The engineer will also assist the Logistics Team in creating HTS Codes (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) for international products and parts. Responsibilities Provide support to manufacturing operations, including creating and maintaining manufacturing process instructions (MPIs). Support or lead Lean initiatives to improve cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the source. Maintain and improve Kanban and other replenishment processes to ensure components are always available and properly accounted for. Maintain manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure replenishment processes correctly account for parts usage. Support or lead manufactured product quality continuous improvement efforts. Assist with new product introductions and existing product changes that impact manufacturing, using the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. Provide manufacturing floor operations support and participate in continuous improvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Understand client Parata products and/or parts shipped and received internationally. Identify required information for customs classifications and gather information from BD Parata systems, websites and/or colleagues of cross‑functional departments such as engineering and R&D. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or other related field of study; relevant experience acceptable in lieu of a degree. 1–2 years of related work experience with a BS degree. Excellent analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments. Strong multi‑tasking and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Appreciation and awareness for manufacturing demand and prioritization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using SolidWorks is a plus. Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work closely with and provide work direction to others in high‑demand situations.
