Job Description

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical and control systems in a clean, high-performance manufacturing environment. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC and servo drives, as well as support routine electrical and mechanical maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, and servo drives.

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and reliability.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation for all work performed.

• Ensure the safety and reliability of electrical systems by following established procedures and best practices.

• Use test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and logic tools to diagnose and resolve issues.

• Support minor mechanical repairs, welding, and fabrication as needed to keep equipment running.

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors on equipment layout, upgrades, and system improvements.

• Install, route, and pull electrical wiring and conduit according to electrical schematics and blueprints.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and installations.

• Perform PLC-related tasks, including programming, adjustments, and troubleshooting on various platforms.

• Support and maintain HVAC and building automation systems as part of overall facility maintenance.

• Utilize CMMS to track work orders, schedule preventive maintenance, and document completed work.

• Apply 5S principles to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.

• Communicate effectively with leadership and other technicians to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in industrial electrician maintenance focused on controls and repair maintenance.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in industrial controls maintenance in a manufacturing or similar environment.

• At least 2+ years of experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repairs.

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including working with 480V power.

• Hands-on experience with electrical PLCs, PLC troubleshooting, and PLC-based control systems.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Proficiency in installing conduit, pulling wire, and performing electrical wiring in an industrial setting.

• Experience with preventive maintenance on industrial electrical and mechanical systems.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their interaction with electrical controls.

• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting on platforms such as Fanuc and Siemens.

• Familiarity with HVAC systems and building automation controls.

• Working knowledge of 5S principles, CMMS systems, and the metric system.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and logic tools for diagnostics.

• Some experience in welding and basic fabrication to support equipment repairs.

• Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors on electrical layout and system improvements.

• Working knowledge of site services including compressed air, vacuum, and chilled water systems.

• Bonus: Experience with Mitsubishi controllers and related control systems.

• Familiarity with food-safe or highly regulated production environments.

• Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and peers to coordinate maintenance activities.

• NICE TO HAVE: Associate degree in an electrical or technical field or a Journeyman-level credential in a related trade.

Work Environment

This position is on 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with initial training on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for approximately 2 to 3 months. The facility is extremely clean, busy, and food-safe, with a strong emphasis on organization and safety. Technicians regularly interact with leadership and other mechanics to coordinate repairs and maintenance. The role involves working around industrial electrical and mechanical equipment, HVAC and building automation systems, and plant utilities such as compressed air, vacuum, and chilled water. Steel toe boots are required, and a white smock is provided for use on the production floor. The environment supports the use of modern tools and technologies, including PLCs, test instruments, CMMS, and standard office software, within a structured and fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
